Legacy Power Platform Practice Resource

PL-600 Practice Test: Power Platform Solution Architecture

Review the solution-architecture skills historically assessed by PL-600, including requirements analysis, solution design, integration, security, and implementation governance.

Exam status: Microsoft retired PL-600 on June 30, 2026. New candidates should not purchase or schedule this exam. This page is retained for professionals reviewing the former objectives, supporting an existing learning plan, or maintaining architecture knowledge.

What PL-600 was designed to validate

PL-600 focused on the decisions made by a Power Platform solution architect before, during, and after implementation. The role joined business analysis with technical design: translating requirements, evaluating existing systems, choosing Power Platform and Dynamics 365 components, defining data and integration approaches, and guiding a solution toward go-live.

It was not a basic product-navigation exam. Candidates were expected to reason across Microsoft Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics 365 customer engagement apps, Azure services, security boundaries, licensing, storage, migration, and change management.

The former PL-600 assessment balance

Envisioning and analysis45–50%
Architect a solution35–40%
Implementation15–20%
Official statusRetired

The weighting explains why scenario analysis mattered more than isolated feature recall. A strong answer usually depended on recognizing constraints, stakeholders, risks, non-functional requirements, and long-term maintainability.

Use this legacy practice test responsibly

  1. Use questions to review architectural reasoning, not to prepare for a bookable 2026 exam.
  2. For every scenario, identify the requirement, constraint, risk, recommended component, and operational consequence.
  3. Verify product behavior against current Power Platform documentation because features and licensing continue to change.
  4. Turn incorrect responses into a short decision log explaining why one design is safer or more maintainable than another.

Durable architecture topics worth retaining

Requirements and fit-gap

Functional versus non-functional needs, business outcomes, system constraints, migration effort, and success criteria.

Data, security, and integration

Dataverse modeling, external data, identity, authorization, DLP, collaboration, APIs, and business continuity.

Delivery and go-live

Validation, performance, API limits, deployment readiness, migration risk, automation conflicts, and support planning.

Best use today: treat PL-600 material as an architecture case-study library. If your goal is a current credential, confirm the replacement route directly in Microsoft Learn rather than assuming the former exam still applies.
