Professional Cloud Security Engineer Practice Test

Develop scenario-based judgment across access, boundary protection, data protection, security operations, AI security, software supply chain, and compliance.

Official role focus: Google describes this engineer as designing and managing secure workloads and infrastructure. Current coverage includes securing AI workloads and the software supply chain as well as established IAM, network, data, operations, and compliance responsibilities.

Use five security questions for every scenario

  1. Who or what needs access? Choose identities, federation, service accounts, groups, roles, conditions, and privilege boundaries.
  2. What path is allowed? Evaluate VPC design, firewalls, load balancing, private access, service perimeters, and hybrid connectivity.
  3. How is data protected? Consider classification, encryption, keys, secrets, storage controls, retention, and exfiltration risk.
  4. How will abuse be detected? Use logs, findings, threat detection, posture controls, alerts, investigation, and automation.
  5. What evidence is required? Map policy, audit, regulatory, residency, and operational requirements to enforceable controls.

Common weak spots

IAM scope

A role can be technically valid but too broad. Practice resource hierarchy, inheritance, conditions, custom roles, and separation of duties.

Boundary design

Do not treat a firewall rule as the whole architecture. Include identity, routing, DNS, service exposure, egress, and private access.

Operations

Prevention is incomplete without usable logs, prioritized findings, tested response, recovery, and ownership.

Pair security with networking

Many security controls depend on connectivity design. The Professional Cloud Network Engineer practice test can strengthen VPC, hybrid connectivity, load balancing, DNS, and network troubleshooting foundations.
